Hard Tissue Grafts refer to bone grafting which is a procedure that replaces lost bone. Guided Bone Regeneration is another procedure that we do in our office that places a membrane over the bone graft site. This membrane is a material that promotes new bone growth and prevents the formation of scar tissue in the grafted area.
Implants are not new to our practice. Before Procedure After Procedure
The tooth is removed and the Bone grafting material is placed into the empty tooth socket. The membrane is placed over the new bone graft. Stitches (sutures) are placed to allow proper healing. Soft Tissue grafts are relatively simple procedures. When the gumline recedes below an acceptable position, a graft can be placed to restore normal continuity. Such a procedure might be recommended to replace lost gum tissue within your smile line.
